Cairo, Egypt – July 2026 – Foundever.org and Carerha have officially launched the 10th cohort of Freelance Mama, marking a significant milestone in a programme that has already empowered more than 250 women across Egypt to develop digital skills, embrace freelancing and create new pathways to financial independence.

To celebrate the occasion, more than 70 women gathered in Cairo, including participants from the new cohort and graduates from previous editions, alongside partners, industry experts and employers. The event combined inspiration, learning and networking, reinforcing the programme’s mission to create opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom.

Created through the partnership between Foundever.org and Carerha, Freelance Mama was designed to support women whose careers have been interrupted by family responsibilities or other life circumstances. Through practical training, coaching, mentoring and access to a strong professional network, the programme helps participants transform existing potential into sustainable career opportunities.

“Freelance Mama was built on a simple belief: a career break should never define a woman’s future,” said Benedita Miranda, Executive Director of Foundever.org. “As we celebrate this 10th cohort, what inspires us most is not only the number of women we have reached, but the confidence they have regained, the careers they have rebuilt and the community they continue to create together.”

The launch event reflected that community spirit. Alumni returned to share their experiences with the newest participants, while industry leaders delivered sessions on freelancing, entrepreneurship and career development. Dedicated mentoring circles, networking opportunities and employer engagement created an environment where participants could build meaningful professional connections while celebrating the programme’s achievements.

For many participants, Freelance Mama represents more than a training programme. It is an opportunity to rediscover professional confidence, gain in-demand digital skills and build careers that offer both flexibility and long-term economic independence.

Over ten cohorts, the initiative has evolved into a thriving community of women supporting one another, demonstrating that when opportunity meets determination, new careers and new futures can emerge.

As Round 10 begins, Foundever.org and Carerha remain committed to expanding access to meaningful employment opportunities for women and continuing to invest in programmes that create lasting social impact.
