Meet Lasana, an example of the student mentorship program’s success

Lasana, of Dakar, Senegal, is an economic planning engineer and project manager who aspires to put his skills and knowledge to help disadvantaged communities and make a difference in the world. With the help of his mentor, recruitment manager Deborah Destree, Lasana learned to analyze job postings and adapt his CV and cover letter to stand out. In doing so, he landed an assignment reviewing the impact of the Malian authorities’ decisions on INGO humanitarian and development operations in Mali. This work, and the encouragement of his mentor, further validated Lasana’s passion for this topic and boosted his self-confidence. Next, he hopes to build off this experience and secure a career in the humanitarian sector.
