One of the programs in which Foundever.org is participating is a women’s empowerment initiative in Egypt through its partnership with Carerha and the Freelance Mama program. Foundever.org is proud to bring the #CXforGood movement to life through this program to help female college graduates who had to stop working or never had the chance to start their career journeys due to a wide range of constraints and life events, including family obligations. The program provides women with training in graphic design, content creation, and virtual assistance/content moderation, setting them on a path for successful freelance careers.
Meet Shaimma, the mother who found a community
Using what she learned in the program, Shaimaa tested out her new skills and used her content creation learnings to help one of her friends who owned a business. Shaimaa marketed and promoted her friend’s business through social media pages. Before long, orders flooded in for her friends’ business seeing triple orders from the previous month! Shaimaa’s confidence was elevated and she thought, “What? I did that? That’s really incredible!”
After the Freelance Mama course, Shaimaa walked away with more than just skills though. She developed and became a part of a community of nine powerful mothers in her track. Together, they helped each other through the course, shared knowledge and resources and even banded together afterwards to aid in their entrepreneurial and volunteer pursuits. If one woman lacks expertise in a certain area, one of the other nine women happily lend a helping hand so the job is a success. Each woman in the group knows that their fellow moms have their back whenever they need it. As Shaimaa says, “[it’s] very impressive” that a group of mothers were not only empowered by the program, but they were empowered by each other as well.
